CHICAGO – More than 6 million American women suffer from urinary incontinence, often beginning in middle age. For many, it restricts their travel, wakes them up at night, and even requires some to wear diapers.

Now there’s a new way to fix the problem without major surgery.

“Sometimes if I go to the store or to my job, I even have to run to the restroom,” said Guadaloupe Bello, a patient at La Grange Memorial Hospital in La Grange, Ill. “If I didn’t get there pretty quickly, I would have an accident, and that’s very embarrassing.”
